Sashimi, sushi and kaisendon

Grabbed the above from a supermarket around 6:30 pm at a hefty 50% discount. Total cost is  600 Yen (S$8). Poor people like us can survive in Japan (not in big cities). There are many other foodstuffs going from 20% to 50% discount in the evening time (most supermarkets close at 9 pm).

Entertained Singaporean friends to dinner

We had some friends from Singapore for dinner. They were touring Southern Japan and visited us for a couple of hours. We had oysters, sashimi, sushi and roast beef for dinner. They promised to visit us again in the near future.

Cheap sushi and fruits in Japan

A few days ago, we went to a store that offers cheap foodstuff. The 16 pieces of quality sushi cost us only S$12.50 and the grapes and persimmons are $5 and $4 respectively.
The cost of living is pretty low as compared to SG.

Sushi from a supermart in Japan

We "tar pow" the sushi from a supermart. One piece of freshly made sushi is 29 Yen or about 37 cents. We bought 14 pieces for S$5.20 cents. The sushi is delicious and fresh. I love the raw fish meat and the soft starchy white rice. It is nice to eat with wasabi and soya sauce.

Eating affordable sushi

Got the sushi from a supermart for less than S6. There are 16 pieces and are as good as the ones sold at the restaurants.

Hiyashi Chuka was prepared at home (first top pic) and the sandwiches and soup was at a western restaurant. Lovely meals.

This plate of sushi was from a supermart 5 km away..oishi ne

The price of the sushi is about S$16 which worth every cent. The sushi is not only fresh but the rice and the toppings are super delicious!
