Cheap sushi and fruits in Japan

A few days ago, we went to a store that offers cheap foodstuff. The 16 pieces of quality sushi cost us only S$12.50 and the grapes and persimmons are $5 and $4 respectively.
The cost of living is pretty low as compared to SG.

Persimmons (Japanese kakis)

Japanese persimmons are in season now. Due to their abundance, persimmons are quite cheap in Japan at this time of the year. I bought the very ripe ones at a mere 34 cents each. They come in a pack of 4. As for the not-so-ripe ones, a packet of 6 costs about S$5. I like to eat the very ripe ones because they are extremely sweet. They taste like honey.
