Nabe and oysters

Since it is quite chilly (average day temp 14c) we decided to have nabe or the equivalent of steamboat for lunch. We had some vegetables which are mostly cabbages and leek plus tofu and beef.
The fresh oysters which we bought from a supermarket was good enough for dinner. The oysters (2 dozens) cost about S$7 which is a steal. Oysters are inexpensive in Japan because they are plentiful during the cooler months.

Nabe pot lunch today

Nabe pot is the equivalent of the Singapore steamboat. You may cook meat like pork, beef or chicken plus all kinds of vegetables and tofu etc. in a pot. It is nice to have the nabe meal during the cold seasons like spring, autumn and winter.
