Old Airport Road Fried Hokkien Mee and Char Kway Teow

We heard a lot about these 2 hawker food at Old Airport Road. They are supposed to be one of the best hawker dishes in Singapore. We took a drive and tried these 2 dishes. At best, we would say both are average. On a scale of 1 to 10, we would rate both at 5. Nothing fantastic. The prices were on the high side at $4 a plate for the Char Kway Teow and $5 for the Fried Hokkien Mee.We won't recommend these 2 to anyone who has to travel a distance to eat them. Not worth the money and efforts.

McCafe's promotion

Whenever you order a cup of hot drink from McCafe at McDonald's you get the staff to stamp on a coupon for you. After 5 cups, you can get one free hot drink, any size. This afternoon, I exchanged my 5 stamps for a huge cup of Mochaccino (pic above usual price $5). I bought a piece of Apple Pie ($1) which is delicious. Go for it man! The promotion is until end of November, I think.

Tonight simple home cooked dinner

The above items are lettuce with dressing, one fried egg, rice and 120 grams of Salmon.

Making my own fruit juices at home

I drink carrot and apple juice almost everyday.

I love my food

Nasi lemak is an ideal dish for breakfast. However, kopi "O" is a must for me every morning. Without my kopi "O", I will be feeling lethargic. Ya sure, it is the caffeine la that I am addicted to!
Sometimes, I may have Prawn Mee soup although a breaky set of 2 half-bolied eggs, toasts and kopi "O" is a welcomed thing.
Lunch?  No lunch for me. I will eat my dinner early, say around 5pm and it mainly consist of some meat, veggies and a small bowl of rice and miso soup.

Recently, my wife and I went to Changi City for a Sabu Sabu buffet. It was a public holiday and the price was upped by $5 each. It was quite delicious but I heard the one at Orchard Center is better. Below are the photos I snapped at Changi City.

I cooked curry fish head

I can cooked quite delicious curry, be it chicken, beef, lamb or fish curry. The ingredients I used are fresh and not processed eg. I use freshly squeezed coconut milk, curry paste from wet market sold by Indians etc.

Vegetarian Bee Hoon

The above dish is popular among Singaporeans and Malaysians. The mock char siew is yummy. There is no meat in this dish as it is a vegetarian dish. The black coffee is a must for me in the morning as it will keep me awake and fresh all day. Total cost is about S$4 for the coffee and Bee Hoon (vermicelli, liken to pasta).
